Smoking Hot Transformers Star Megan Fox Spied In Black Mercedes-Benz CLS55 AMG

Thrust [snort] into the spotlight recently over her racy tell-all and steamy pictures featured in the October 2008 issue of GQ magazine, bad girl Megan Fox earned a spot in RideLust’s headlines after being photographed motoring around West Hollywood in a murdered-out Mercedes CLS55 AMG. “That’s old news,” you say, “Britney Spears drives one too,” you say - to which I politely and professionally respond: kiss off.

Any excuse to check out Megan Fox without appearing inappropriately attentive is a worthy one, so enjoy.

View Fox-y Photos After The Jump

A relative newcomer to the scene, Megan Fox first challenged Penelope Cruze’s title as my brunette celebrity crush the very first time I saw the Transformers movie. Although obviously not scripted by any poet laureates, my Fox-fandom was cemented during the hottest verbal exchange of the entire movie.

After popping Bumblebee’s hood [snicker], Mikalea [Fox] inspects the engine and cooly observes, “You got a high rise double pump carburetor. That’s…that’s pretty impressive Sam.” Every ounce the player, Sam [Shia LaBeouf] smoothly replies, “Double pump?”

“It squirts the fuel in so you can go faster,” Mikaela patiently explains.

“Oh…I like to go faster.”

Did that not scorch your eyeballs right out of your head? No? It was just me? Ok, so maybe my selection was a little biased, I admit I have a certain soft spot for girls who know their cars. So even if your Transformers viewing experience required exercising the self-control of Jenny Craig to prevent you from walking out in the face of the excruciatingly lacking dialogue, everybody can appreciate a good ol’ fashioned ogling every once in a while, right?

Modern Speed Machines Creates The MSM Mustang GT, And Lo, A Darkness Hath Descendeth Upon The Track

From Drew Phillips at Muscle Car News; the guys of Modern Speed Machines have created a supercharged Ford Mustang GT that sufficiently kicks the 2009 Hennessey Dodge Challenger’s ass in the exterior design department. So intimidating is the black on black design, no corny play on AC/DC lyrics or clichéd Stealth Bomber references seem to do it justice [though several were tried].

Co-owned by cousins Gilly Rojany and Eric Rojany, Modern Speed Machines is an aftermarket performance part manufacturer that is devoted solely to outfitting 5th generation Ford Mustangs. The MSM Mustang is the Rojany’s flagship creation and the ultimate testament to the sweet, sweet love they can make to a Mustang [sounds more illegal than I intended for it to]. A 2005 S197 Ford Mustang at its core, MSM’s studly ’stang [sorry] is outfitted with a handmade with MSM’s 3D Carbon Boy Race Body Kit and the most intimidating leather job I’ve ever seen, Harley riders’ gear notwithstanding. Under the hood, the MSM Mustang is 500 horses strong thanks to a Paxton High-Output supercharger, 39 lb. Ford Racing fuel injectors, K&N air filter, and JBA Performance Exhaust System.

Definitely meant for tearing up the asphalt on the track, even though I’m a diehard Volvo fan [who knew?], I’m not ashamed to admit that I’d love to get behind the wheel of MSM’s creation and really see what she can do. And, because I’m fairly certain only 4 people within the continental US will ever read this any given time, I’m also not ashamed to admit that the same indecent proposal I offered to GM in exchange for track time with the Chevy Volt, I’d also like to extend to MSM et al…call me, guys.

Ascari KZ1: Fuel Efficient Supercar? (sort of)

Ascari KZ1
Ascari KZ1

The relatively unknown Ascari KZ1, (pronounced K-Zed-1 by the English), is the product of Klaas Zwart’s desire to manufacture a truly exclusive super car (Only 50 are built).  The title of “super car” gets thrown around quite a bit in automotive circles.  Having the highest horsepower, the fastest top speed or being the most expensive or prettiest is not enough.  If it were, than the Bugatti Veyron would be the hands down “King of Super Cars.”  (I personally think it looks like a deformed Audi TT).  Instead the super-car designation is given to a car with a combination of elements not least of which is a reasonable level of real-life drivability.  From those that have driven the KZ1, and I am not yet one of them, there are quite a few who claim that it may be the most super of all “super cars.”

Power is provided by a naturally aspirated, 5.0-liter BMW M5-derived eight-cylinder engine.  The hand-molded aluminum engine ignites 500 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 406-ft. lbs. of torque @ 4,500 rpm.  0-60 is attained in 3.7 seconds and the car has a top speed (LIMITED for European road worthiness mind you) to 200 mph!  According to the BBC television show Top Gear it posted the fifth quickest lap time EVER recorded on the series at just over one minute and 20 seconds.  Despite the absence of an electronic stability control system, maneuvering and handling at high speeds are managed with ease due to the mid-motor position.  Ok, that’s all well and good, but the real kicker is that it still manages 18 mpg in town and 26 mpg on the highway.  All is well indeed.

KZ1 on the track
KZ1 on the track

The one complaint given about the KZ1 is that it may be so good, so refined and so polished, that it actually eliminates one of the main thrills of driving such a vehicle; the possibility of danger.  Even the design, which is certainly appealing, isn’t overly exotic either.  The interior, in fact the entire car, is what you would expect from something that is the result of 340 hours of handcrafted excellence.  The interior color of each car is matched to the exterior based on the customer’s specifications.

With mileage better than some SUV’s and a ride that is actually feasible for a daily commute, there really isn’t much of an excuse not to like the KZ1.  I’m sure when a car costs $450,000, gas mileage is not even a blip on the radar of concern for the buyer.  But it is impressive nonetheless and proof that performance doesn’t have to be at the expense of mileage.  (I’m looking at you Bugatti.)

New Sexier, Topless, Bugatti Veyron - Grand Sport 16.4

For those who thought that with 1,001 horsepower the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 was already the best there is in mass-produced automobiles, the Veyron 16.4 is now available as a roadster.

On 17 August, which is the opening day of the vintage meeting at Pebble Beach, California, the VW subsidiary Bugatti will unleash another car to get any guy’s motoring juices going, the Grand Sport Veyron 16.4.

The fewer than 150 prestigious owners of the original sports flying machine are about to be upstaged by the new topless version. The new removable roof version will utilize what the company calls “innovative structural solutions” that will allow for increased wind cutting aerodynamics and added safety with hidden reinforcement to make up for the lack of roof structure.

They claim that these new atmosphere cutting features will mean that the occupants will be able to experience wind in the hair motoring without being blown out of their seats at the supercars 0 to 60 in 2.4 seconds takeoff, or its top speed over 250 mph.

The rumor in the auto industry news is that there will only be 80 lucky owners of the new version. There will be a price increase also on the $18 million for the “standard” Bugatti Veyron. If you need to ask the price you can’t afford it anyway, but probably everyone reading this can’t afford its $2.25 million price tag.

The point of the August 17 meeting at Pebble Beach is to allow the mega-rich to participate in an auction to fight for the bragging rights to be the owner of the very first Grand Sport Veyron to roll out of the factory in 2010.

The auction is apparently a straight forward highest bid gets the first car, so you can expect playboys and Arab Sheiks to be lining up to pay perhaps millions more for the honor of owning the very first Grand Sport Veyron 16.4.

SCC Ultimate Aero TT Claims Top Speed Honors with 255 mph Average Time

SCC Ultimate Aero TT

Back in Augustwe had told you about the Shelby Supercar (SCC) Ultimate Aero TT and its goal of usurping the Bugatti Veyron’s unofficial claim as fastest production car in the world. On September 14th The Ultimate Aero TT under the astute eyes of the Guinness Book of World Records finally made its speed run on a closed section of Washington State Highway. The recorded time as averaged from the two passes turned out to be 255.83 mph. Thus beating the Bugatti Veyron’s recorded time by just under 3 mph.

In the end the ultimate challenge for the SCC crew was in finding a suitable location to make their run at the record. Being a small research and production company means that they do not have the large test tracks in their possession that many of the large auto makers have at their disposal. (more…)

With patents pending on his engine technology, Parker is sharing a first glimpse of the Fuel Vapor ale to the public. BMW Z9 could be an Audi R8 competitor… if built

BMW C S Concept - Z9

BMW does not seem all too interested in sharing their market with Audi. They have their 1-Series aimed at countering Audi’s A1 concept and A3. They have their 335xi AWDtargeted at competing against Audi’s Quattro models. Now BMW appears tired of listening to all the Audi R8 hoop-la. The Z9 will be designated as BMW’s Heavy Weight, high speed combatant against the Iron Man auto of Audi.

To give the Z9 its competitive drive BMW plans to utilize a modified version of the V10 found in the M5 and M6 models. With a target output of 550 horsepower the Z9 will have the muscle to stand up against the R8, but will it have the sleek elegance demonstrated by the Audi super car? (more…)
